Offering 13: Guilt – A POEM A DAY FOR NOVEMBER 2010

by on November 14, 2010

13th November

Knot in the stomach

A nagging ache

Race in the head

Futile attempts at erasure

Adrenalin cover up

A hounding in the heart

Surreptitious sweat

The odour of regret

Shameless undesired seed

Unforgotten indiscretion

Brutally honest infection

Why, if the body never lies

Do we doubt that the buried

Will one day inevitably rise?
