Offering 14 : Declaration – A POEM A DAY FOR NOVEMBER

by on November 14, 2010

14th November

Sisters, I come

Barefoot and open-hearted

Into this circle of resonance

Suddenly I am admitting to you

That which I, in all these years

Have not even said to myself

Here in the blanket of your listening

Sitting at this fire free of judgement

Here begins my homecoming

The thread of my once innocent silences

Has twisted, thickened and darkened with time

Had I not found this haven with you, who knows

What uses I would have found for this rope

Sisters, I rise

Trembling and thin-skinned

Enter this circle of integrity

Finally I am ready to dance with you

So that my shaking will scatter the dust

Dissolve this cancerous strain of self-doubt

Digesting the medicine of laughter and tears

With you as my mirrors and witnesses

Here begins my recovery
